Help to Get you Published
The process of getting a book from idea to bookstore can be daunting to the new author. So daunting, in fact, that it puts many potential authors off ever even trying. We believe this is unfortunate as it means that many great ideas and insights go unpublished.
We help independent authors of quality works to navigate the sometimes scary process of self-publishing. We do this via our Self-Publishing Coach service.
Please note that Monterey Press is not a traditional publisher. We do not consider unsolicited manuscripts nor finance the publishing process.
Nor are we a 'vanity' publisher. So-called vanity publishers often preset themselves as mainstream publishers, but they actually make most of their profits from selling book production services (editing, printing, etc.) to their authors. We will introduce you to service providers who we know do good work, but we don't accept any commissions from them.
